Vinyl Record Architect Paul Rosenblatt To Speak at Podcamp 6
On Sunday, September 18, at 1PM, I will be speaking at Podcamp 6. My session is entitled "Writing Down Your Crazy: Transforming Your Collecting Obsession into a Blog."
Yes, your very own Vinyl Record Architect is speaking at in international blogging conference. And it is in Pittsburgh. And its all about this blog - your blog!
Podcamp 6 is the sixth world conference on new media. The first Podcamp was held in Boston, Massachusetts in 2006, followed by Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania - then California, Sweden, Ireland and South Africa.
So, in 2011, Podcamp is back in the 'burgh.
As you know well if you have been following this blog for a while, I have been collecting vintage vinyl records for the last few years and writing about my collecting habit for you. If you are new to this blog, welcome! As an Architect of museums and cultural facilities - as well as homes and offices that house people who often have some kind of collection or another - don't you?! - I am passionate about collecting. I truly believe that collections are reflections of ourselves and our values and passions.
I am my collection and my collection is me. Sort of....
And then there are the pack rats and hoarders, but I digress.
My Podcamp 6 presentation will be a sort of LIVE Vinyl Record Architect blog - with pictures and music - sharing my enthusiam for vinyl records and discussing how social media enables me and my architectural associates at SPRINGBOARD Design to communicate in new ways. As quoted in Columns Magazine (June, 2011) by writer Becky Spevack "Social media provides me with new ways I can 'socialize' with a lot of people I heven't even met. It enables me to reach far greater numbers of people than ever before."
If you are in the neighborhood, please come see me, Paul Rosenblatt, the Vinyl record Archiect, LIVE at Podcamp 6!
And be sure to say you are a reader and say hi!
