What Records Have You Recently Bought? Records I've Recently Bought

There is a nice string of entries on an LA Times blog about records people have recently bought for themeselves or have on their list to buy.

What records have you recently bought is a question I frequently hear. Friends and acquaintances who are also into records are curious and people who aren't into records seem curious as well. Its a friendly question, an ice breaker, a conversation starter, and it works. Since your most recent finds are still fresh in your mind, and fresh on your turntable, and the object of your excitement, new music has the potential to change your life. Or at least that is the feeling you get.

When you are a teenager, new music probably has that potential more than at any other time in your life. As you get older, discovering new music becomes a way to reconnect with that feeling.

When I was in Johnstown recently, I came across a nice clean copy of Son House's 1965 release for Columbia. It is the record that Jack White plays in the Davis Guggenheim documentary, It Might Get Loud. Its hard to find and in such good shape, and  I wanted to hear it.

Some other records I've recently bought are:

The Illusion, If It's So
Small Faces, There are But Four Small Faces
Chad and Jeremy, Distant Shores
Marmalade, Reflections of the Marmalade
Canned Heat, Live at Topanga Corral

What records have YOU recently bought? Let me know!

Well, you saw what I was getting from the dollar bins on Record Store Day at Jerry's, but in any case...
    Information Society: Hack
Sting: Dream of the Blue Turtles
There are a couple more but I can't recall off the top of my head what they were. These 2 LPs have seen a lot of time on the turntable lately however.

      Thanks for your comment, Tom.

Wilco - Summerteeth (New of course. Not likely to be lucky to grab this one used)
King Crimson - Discipline (Don't look for In the Court... era sounds hear. This is vintage 80s in the Talking Heads mold only better. Fripp and Adrian Belew interplay on guitars while Tony Levin and Bill Bruford lay down the groove in fascinating time signatures. Great stuff)
Sonny Boy Williamson - Down & Out Blues (Classic blues on Chess no less. Includes Don't Start Me To Talkin' covered by the Doobie Brothers on Toulouse Street)
