Songs for Thanksgiving --- at NPR

When my friends came to dinner a few weeks ago, I planned to put on a CD and focus on cooking and my company. I know, I know - sacrilege! But, its hard for me to play vinyl DJ and cook and entertain all at the same time. Kind of like walking and chewing  gum....what, you can do THAT?

Anyway. One of my friends, Benoni wasn't so sure about my approach to music that evening. "What?" Benoni asked, "No vinyl? Here? We're not going to listen to CDs at Paul's house!!" And he proceeded to sit down in front of my record shelves and pull some disks. With an assist from Nate....

As it should be. We listened to records all evening. And we had an interesting and eclectic selection of musisc. From Journey to David Bromberg. Thanks Benoni and Nate!

Yes, Journey.....

Ok. So, another 'big meal' is approaching - Thanksgiving, hellooooo! - and the question, again, is how will I approach playing music that evening?  What is your approach going to be?

I needed some help. Thanks NPR.

If you are looking for some 'seasonal' Thanksgiving music, look no further. Last year, NPR put together a kick-ass playlist for Thanksgiving. Although the links are down - you'll have to chase these tunes on your own - the list lives on in cyberspace for our use and enjoyment:
