Jimmy Page is a Radical

The latest Crawdaddy online has news of Jimmy Page's intention to release an album of new material this year. On the heals of the very successful and very good 'It Might Get Loud' documentary, there appears to be a large multi-generational audience eagerly awaiting.

I’m looking forward to hearing what Page will do. His mate Plant made a great record with Alison Krauss but the whole stripped down roots production of aging rockers is itself getting old. So, maybe Page really does mean to do something ‘radical.’ A blues album would be cool, harder edged and rawer than the kind Clapton puts out – boring boring boring. Or maybe it will really be something new. Hmmm. As a fifty something architect myself, I'm looking forward to reaching my prime….maybe old rockers like Page can figure out how to grow old and not fade away.
