More Cultural Overlaps: Wilco MFB Curates Arts Festival

http://www.massmoca.org/event_details.php?id=553

I just learned that Wilco
MFB (My Favorite Band) will be curating an arts festival this summer. The arts festival is called the Solid Sound Festival:

"The SOLID SOUND FESTIVAL is a new festival curated by the Chicagoband Wilco. It debuts August 13 – 15 at MASS MoCA (Massachusetts Museum ofContemporary Art) in North Adams, MA. The SOLID SOUND FESTIVAL is anindependently promoted and ticketed three-day event of music, art, comedy, interactivityand more. Wilco headlines the weekend, in the bandʼs only East Coast performance ofthe summer. This new festival also presents individual performances by all the Wilcomembersʼ side projects including Glenn Kotcheʼs On Fillmore, The Nels Cline Singers,The Autumn Defense featuring John Stirratt and Pat Sansone and Mikael JorgensenʼsPronto."

A great example of cultural overlaps: rock band curates multi-disciplinary festival combining music, art, comedy, interactivity "and more"!
