Traveling Music

Starting to read Neil Peart's book, "Traveling Music: the Soundtrack to My Life and Times." Since I have been traveling lately, I have also been thinking about the music I bring with me - alot via Ipod - and what I leave behind on vinyl, and what music  I think about when I am not listening to music.

The best book I have ever read in re: music is "High Fidelity." Is that also everybody's favorite? But what else? Jimmy Webb's memoir is great. "This is Your Brain on Music" is good, but pretty serious in comparison. Salman Rushdie's novel about the Indian rock star didn't get to me.

Maybe Peart's will be good. I'm going to tuck into it now before sleep takes over.
