series exploring international collaborative and trans-disciplinary practice in
the built environment. In partnership with Tate Modern.
Steven Holl and Vito Acconci
Thursday 11 June, 7.00pm
Holl and Acconci discuss their
collaboration on the Storefront for Art and Architecture's façade, New York; a
temporary intervention now preserved as an important urban landmar
Teddy Cruz and Pedro Reyes
Monday 15 June, 7.00pm
For several years architect Cruz and artist
Reyes have been investigating and proposing design solutions for complex urban
situations, from the US/Mexico borderlands to post-conflict Iraq. They will
explore this sharing of disciplinary strategies with Sarah Ichioka, Director of
the AF.
Elmgreen & Dragset and Jamie Fobert
Monday 22 June, 7.00pm
Elmgreen & Dragset's work plays with the white cube as
container and form, with a practice rich in subversive critique. Joined by
Jamie Fobert, architect of Tate St Ives' extension and the new CCC Moscow, the
evening will dwell on designing, inhabiting and adapting spaces for art.
Chaired by Alice Rawsthorn, design critic, International Herald Tribune.
The
series will continue in October.
