On Pops and Scratches

My comment on Dale Dougherty's Radar O'Reilly website:

"As a recent convert BACK to vinyl, I appreciate the warmth and humanism that I hear in the pops and scratches. My new old 1970s era stereo components that I found on Craig's list and at the local recycler play my used vinyl records - no new vinyl for me - in ways that seem to fit the music I enjoy especially, the garage and psychedelic rock from about 1965-1970. I don't think it sounds better, it just sounds good to me. Everything I write about on my Blog - blog.vinylrecordarchitect.com - is heard on old vinyl, the records played and enjoyed by others before me. I like the sense of continuity and the acknolwedgement of the passage of time, the equivilent of patina in old wood floors."
