What's on your desert island record list?

Last week our garage flooded. We didn't lose anything that I wasn't already and for a very long time trying to give away or sell, but it made me stop and think. The torrential rains that hit Western Pennsylvania for some reason made me wonder what I would save if I had to. What if I were stranded, on a desert island, say? What would I save? What would I need?

People first - family - this one goes out to the ones I love - that is people and photographs - and then music. In case of a flood, I would grab essential records, ones that I could live with - over and over - and couldn't live without. Only enough time to grab maybe...ten. My list might look something like this:

1. Wilco 'Yankee Hotel Foxtrot'
2. Bob Dylan 'Desire'
3. Bob Dylan 'Blonde on Blonde'
4. The Beatles 'Abbey Road'
5. John Coltrane 'Love Supreme'
6. John Mayall's Bluesbreakers with Eric Clapton
7. The Yardbirds 'Havin' a Rave up'
8. Joni Mitchell 'Blue'
9. Country Joe and the Fish 'Electric Music for the Mind and Body'

At least for now, that's the list.
